Measuring 5 feet 10¾ inches (180 cm), the Model O is the largest of STEINWAY 's “small grand pianos.” This piano is large enough to satisfy those who demand a full, rich sound, but sized to fit into almost any home.
SUSPENDERS
3 solid spruce stays with a volume of 1,253 cu. in (20,528 cm3); Fir provides tensile strength with less weight. Maple pegs attach the braces to the soundboard producing a single homogeneous base upon which the entire tonal component is built. A cast iron treble bell, positioned at the bottom of the soundboard in the treble bend, holds the frame firmly in position by means of a steel bolt. The STEINWAY & SONS iron wedge anchors the ends of the brace securely to the cross block ensuring a permanent posture of the soundboard.

KEYS
European spruce, individually weighed. Chip-proof, smudge-resistant coverage for natural tones; non-slip, worn ebony for treble. Durable Linden wood buttons reinforce the keys on the balance rail, allowing for maximum tonal power with each hit. Longest key: 19" (48.3 cm), heavy bronze, solid. Unichord, tonal and resonant.
