Kawai's range of premium pianos takes its name from Shigeru Kawai, the company's second president and father of the current president, Hirotaka Kawai.
The six SK models are limited edition instruments, crafted by master piano craftsmen at Ryuyo's Hamamatsu facility. In 1997, this was the first piano factory to receive certification for excellence in environmental management.
The SK-6L is the 214cm model in the range and offers a wonderful combination of tonal depth, dynamic flexibility and harmonic clarity. Each Shigeru Kawai piano is manufactured in a serene environment, where selecting and caring for the finest materials possible to provide the most rewarding musical experience leads to completion times three to five times longer than normal. The craftsman's time-honored methods are carefully combined with the benefits that modern technology can bring, including the use of an anechoic chamber, advanced materials and digital design tools to bring out the best in each piano and each component.
